Alpine A110
The Alpine A110 Deluxe is another original design from Karl Longbottom Guitars, blending classic aesthetics with modern playability. This version retains the 25.5" concert scale length, providing snappy response and dynamic playability, making it an excellent choice for a wide range of musical styles. What sets this model apart is its Flame Maple top, which not only enhances the guitar’s visual appeal but also introduces a brighter overall tone compared to the full Cedrela body.
The Alpine’s body shape was conceived to offer a fresh perspective on what a comfortable yet striking guitar should be. Inspired by elements from other Karl Longbottom Guitars models, it maintains a balanced feel against the player’s body, whether seated or standing. The body design is slightly offset, with asymmetrical horns that allow for effortless access to higher frets on both bass and treble strings. A belly cut ensures playing comfort whether standing or seated, while an arm chamfer provides additional ease for the strumming arm. Standard Karl Longbottom Guitars appointments such as a rolled fretboard, a roomier lower cutaway, and a chamfered armrest all contribute to an enhanced playing experience. The neck construction features a threaded bolt system, which ensures a precise and tight fit, offering resonance comparable to a glued-in neck but with the practical benefits of a two-piece system.
Tonewoods & Sound
The body is crafted from Cedrela, a lightweight, medium-density wood with a Janka hardness rating similar to Mahogany. Sonically, Cedrela delivers a warm tone with rich overtones, though each individual piece varies slightly. It is excellent for natural finishes, showcasing a beautiful reddish-brown hue, while also taking paint exceptionally well. The addition of a Flame Maple top introduces enhanced brightness and top-end clarity, with a subtle boost in mid frequencies, catering to players who seek a bit more presence and articulation in their tone.
We use the best hardware to make sure that your guitar is always at its best. Our first port of call would be a PAF style humbucker for this guitar. The best PAFs are clear and articulate, offering the warmth and punch of a P90 without the hum. These pickups are incredibly versatile and have been responsible for some of the most iconic guitar tones of the past 60 years. The small details add up and that's why we use Paper In Oil Caps, CTS Pots and Switchcraft Jack and control switch.
